Back to nothern

Last Saturday I was at ‘negeri utara’. My younger brother was having his engagement ceremony. His fiancĂ© was a college mate while they both study in same university. My brother now working with Sunway Construction as site supervisor and his fiancĂ© is an officer with immigration department.

I was alone as my wife and kids not go along our contingent. I was affraid that both my kids will having their sickness on long journey travell. The trip to Tembeling resort at Kuantan is a disaster example. For a few weeks, my car was smelling bad.

3 cars are on this batch. Me, my brother and together with our father are in same car, while my mother together with my sister and her husband. Another car is my cousin with her son and sister.

We stayed in ‘home stay’ house in Kangar and at the night we enjoyed having seafood that was on my brother. The ceremony next day was good and successful and everybody is happy with it.

After the session, I make my move to Alor Setar while others still in Kangar for another 1 day. I was working in Alor Setar during 1999 – 2002 to deliver a Land Tax Systems project for Kedah state government. During these years, I’ve make few friends and some of my ex-working colleague still in here.

It is fun to meet them again after a long time. Lots of thing we talk about. I’m back to Kuala Lumpur next day and was batched by my brother who was from Kangar. We arrived in KL by 10pm.

License To Grill

I love to watch cook program “License to Grill.” The food look so yummy and juicy even after 4 – 6 hours grilled. The chef Rob Rainford is really good in talking and making me not boring watching it. Not so stereo type like most of our local chef.

Today, again I’m having a grill chicken using a recipe that I learn from this cook program. It is a hot & spicy chicken. The ingredients is a chop of garlic, Thai chilies (that is we called it cili hijau/merah), coriander – better to have Italian coriander (daun sup la), a bit of paprika, cayenne and paper corn. Then splash it with some olive oil and keep in refrigerator for 24 hours.

Rainford style. Keep the ingridient together in bag for 24 hours in fridge.

I don’t have a grilled in my house but I do have an oven. I don’t like the result of chicken from the oven. It will dry up your meat and not tasty. Also it will make your oven smell bad and hard to clean. So I have my own style to grill it :-) .

My non-stick pan as my grill device.

Chicken is grilled together with others ingridients until it is smell good enough.
Move others and just left the chicken.

I am able to steal some of my working time and baby sitting my kid to cook. I do enjoy my lunch with the grilled chicken while my kid is having porridge that been earlier cooked by her mother this morning. Poor her, she love chicken so much. Anyway she is a good kid today and I’m enjoyed my time with her today.

The Guardian of Chicken Pox Patient

Our youngest daughter is getting chicken pox disease since last Sunday... At first, the pox is only show at her neck like was bitten by red ants, but then next on Monday my wife received a message from our nursemaid that our kid is suspected having this disease seems there’s lots of poxes at her body.

Ahhhhh… What a bad news… Me and my wife just recovered from bad fever and now is my daughter turn. I’m sure the nursery won’t accept her for this timing.

My wife not able to take a leave to baby sit our kid as she is start busy with her project implementation and I am a man that won’t keep 2 kids together on their ages. Since my work is change on shift only for this August, it is not a big deal if our eldest kid is sent her nursemaid until her mother came back from her busy day.

Yesterday was a good day for me on the first day. After giving her some Tam-tam (her favorite junk food) and a bottle of Ribenna, she was on dozed. Me, I’m enjoying watching live Olympic telecast on Astro until near at 11 mornings, both my parent came to visit their illness grandchild. Hearing her granny voice, my kids immediately wake up from her sleep to get them. Man, they save my world yesterday.

Today I’m alone with her again. Our eldest kid is with my parent since I’m afraid this pox disease will get to her too. This morning after her mother goes to work, she makes herself easy to handle. I’m asking her if she want a bread or nasi goreng and with her sweet smile she mention “nasi goweeng…”. To make her busy while I’m making our breakfast, I giving her the Disney play channel. My style of nasi goreng cina prepared and served with 2 spoons. The metal spoon is for me and plastic spoon is for her. Using a same plate we eat together. She is enjoying the food and after that she asking herself to have the medicine. I’m sure kids at her ages will hate about all medicine, but not her.

Later, she was asking me for a paper to play a draw. I give my ball pen and few sheets of paper to her to sketch. Boring with it, she brings out her story book that I buy from Carrefour last year and asking me to read it for her. Later she spent her time continue watching cartoon and I continue washing dishes in the kitchen.

About in the afternoon, she was asking for a bottle of Ribenna and I know it is time for her to get sleep. I open a fan in our bedroom and making her drinks. Now she in dozed and will hope that it will be long as I will start my work at 3pm.

My kids on dozed :)
